Roles and responsibilities for ENGINEERING MANAGER III-HC


The Engineering Manager position leads and executes product programs with cross-functional team leaders and individuals to meet customer requirements for product quality, cost, to ensure that new product development is done on-time, to right quality and cost. Duties include (but are not limited to): • Setting the strategy and direction of the business and driving continuous improvement of systems, products and processes • Functional leadership of the team, including recruitment, team/talent development, skill set improvement, and mentoring • Resource assignment and prioritization including headcount and base cost budget • Instilling a rigorous approach to target costing for new products and driving cost out of existing products • Leading change through creative solutions to unstructured product and system design issues • Optimizing team’s participation in all phases of product development • Supporting existing products within Manufacturing, Sourcing, Service and Supplier Quality Engineering Quality Specific Goals: Is is mandator 1. Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position 2. Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines 3. Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required 4. Drive compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements before approving Design Outputs/Program Deliverables 5. Identify continuous improvement activities by initiating the implementation of process and product quality improvement initiatives

Desired Profile

Profile Description

1.Masters Degree in Electronics Engineering with 12-15 years experience within Engineering or technical discipline or equivalent (defined as High School Diploma/GED and progressive experience as an engineer within the appropriate field of study. 2.12-15 years relevant work experience 3.At least 5 years project management or direct or indirect people leadership experience Preferred Qualifications:1.Masters or PhD in Engineering 2.12-15 years relevant industrial experience 3.Proven ability to work cross-functionally4.Demonstrated project leadership and/or people management skills5.Demonstrated supplier and manufacturing interface skills6.Proven mentoring and coaching abilities; demonstrated ability to motivate & inspire others7.Excellent communication, influencing skills and ability to gain buy-in for initiatives8.Proven LEAN skills9.Demonstrated ability to deliver results while working on multiple projects simultaneously, balancing resources, timing and quality of outcomes10.Demonstrated problem-solving and leadership skills
